# Make an account a strategy

> Make an account a strategy. Marks an account as a strategy: its trades are copied to every account that subscribes to it.

`POST https://api.fxapis.com/v1/copy/strategies`

Marks an account as a strategy: its trades are copied to every account that subscribes to it. The account must be `always_on` — a master traded by hand never sends fxapis an order, so an idle terminal would be stopped — and a hedging account, and must not follow a strategy itself. One live strategy per account. A member confirms it is them (step-up). While copy trading is paused on this server (`GET /v1/copy/status`), this answers 503 `COPY_TRADING_PAUSED`.

Authentication: `Authorization: Bearer <API key>`.
