Claude plugin and skill

The fxapis plugin for Claude Code: the MCP server with sign-in, the trading-mt5-safely skill, status and positions commands, and a hook that confirms every trade and refuses live accounts until you allow them. The skill is also a zip for claude.ai.

Install in Claude Code

/plugin marketplace add fxapis/claude-plugins
/plugin install fxapis@fxapis

The first fxapis tool call opens fxapis's sign-in in your browser. Choose read-only, or trading on the accounts you pick (this needs two-factor). For an agent that runs unattended, set an API key as the plugin's api_key option instead: /plugin, then fxapis, then configure.

What it adds

  • The MCP server https://api.fxapis.com/mcp, as described in MCP server.
  • Commands:
    • /fxapis:status: your accounts and whether each can trade.
    • /fxapis:positions: open positions across accounts, with P/L.
    • /fxapis:connect-help: signing in, live trading, keys, revoking.
  • A confirmation hook. Before every fxapis trade, Claude Code asks you, even in auto-accept mode, with one line: what, how much, which account, demo or LIVE.
    • Trades on accounts fxapis reports as live are refused until you turn on allowLiveTrading in the plugin's settings.
    • An account not yet listed in the session is asked about, marked "demo or live not known yet".
  • The skill, below.

The skill

trading-mt5-safely teaches Claude how to trade through fxapis without surprises:

  • demo before live;
  • one explicit yes per trade, naming account, environment, symbol, side and volume;
  • a fresh idempotency key per action;
  • never resending an unresolved order;
  • checking the market is open;
  • sizing against free margin;
  • reducing risk before adding in a drawdown.

Its references cover the order lifecycle, multi-account orders, and every error code with its next step.

On claude.ai and Claude Desktop, download trading-mt5-safely.zip and upload it under Settings → Capabilities → Skills. Then add the fxapis connector as in MCP server.

The plugin, skill and hook are open source: FXapis/claude-plugins.
