Native MT5 MCP versus a hosted MCP server

MetaQuotes' terminal MCP and fxapis's hosted MCP are different places to run MetaTrader 5. Neither is the only route. Compare where the terminal runs, how you sign in, and what each can do.

MetaQuotes added MCP to the MetaTrader 5 terminal in build 6060 (23 July 2026). That server runs inside the terminal on the machine where the terminal is open. fxapis runs a separate MCP server at https://api.fxapis.com/mcp. The terminal is in our cloud. These are not two names for one product.

Checked against MetaQuotes' terminal help and the fxapis MCP guide on 1 November 2026. Native MCP exists. fxapis is not the only MCP route, and not every ChatGPT plan can call every tool.

Start with the MCP guide if you want the hosted path, and the read-only guide if the assistant must not trade. The landing page uses the same split: sign in for interactive clients, a key for scripts.
